SCIENCE DEPARTMENT NEWS

Our students have been busy going out on field trips this fall. The grade 10 classes went to Cootes Paradise where they saw the Fishway conservation program in action. They learned how to identify fish commonly found in Cootes Paradise and Hamilton Harbour.

The grade 11 university biology students went out to Dundas Valley Conservation Area where they conducted an aquatic study. Students gained experience capturing and identifying hundreds of macro-invertebrates.

SCIENCE FAIR! Students interested are encouraged to see Mrs. Stack-Durward as soon as possible to begin their project and to be paired up with a mentor.

The CN science department is calling all CN ALUMNI who are currently working in an area of science and technology. We are trying to compile a list of “where are you now”. CN science alumni are asked to contact Mrs. Stack-Durward, Mr. Briatico or Mr. Cedri at 905-664-3382

Let’s all go to the ONTARIO SCIENCE CENTRE! The grade 9 students are planning a trip to the Science centre later this month.

Welcome back Mrs. Vandenbosh and Mrs. Zvonar from their maternity leaves!
